I sin ledare idag, ”A reasoned response to Donald Trump’s irrational tariffs”, rekommenderar Financial Times ett försiktigt agerande från EUs och andra berörda länders sida när de ska ta ställning till Trumps tullar på stål och aluminium.

”The US steel tariffs will affect only about 2 per cent of EU steel production: not negligible, but not dramatic. The slow, painstaking business of pursuing legal avenues and building a system that bypasses the US is much less satisfying than slapping tariffs on bourbon. But it may well pay longer-term dividens in the face of such a mercurical US administration.”
