Assange: ”Sweden has accepted every single demand”

Sweden has accepted every single request for an extradition that the United States have made since 2000, Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks, has claimed.

Svenska Dagbladet’s Fact Check shows that the statement is not entirely correct.

CLAIM:

In a television interview with Swedish Channel 4 in December 2011 the Wikileak founder Julian Assange, who keeps fighting against being extradited from Great Britain to Sweden, is asked whether he is afraid of being extradited to the USA and what he thinks will happen to him if that should be the case. He answers: “Yes, that is the single biggest consideration, a hand-over to the United States /…/ Every single extradition request that has been sent to Sweden from the United States, since the year 2000, Sweden has handed the person over.”
